An inaccurate installation of the luminaire with ineffective connection (insulating tape, self-amalgamating tape or sheath inaccurately used) may lead to water passage along the cable and consequently water ingress in the fitting.

All ground recessed luminaires showing the H2O STOP logo are equipped with a H2O STOP system or resin coated connectors giving effective protection against water passage along connecting cables.
