Lindfield Learning Village - Lindfield, New South Wales
Lindfield Learning Village is a newly developed co-educational, comprehensive school catering for students from kindergarten through to Year 12, with a capacity of 350 students. The school is located in the lush Lindfield bushlands in the north of Sydney, occupying the former University of Technology Sydney (UTS). The NSW Government invested $40 million in the refurbishment project to take the pressure off nearby schools and cater to the growth of students in the upper north shore of Sydney.
The Lindfield Learning Village refurbishment upgrade features new classrooms, theatres, and a sporting centre, alongside the introduction of a new childcare facility and high-quality technical spaces, bringing a new lease of life to the area.
The project saw Erbas and DesignInc collaborate with Versalux to introduce an innovative lighting system using a selection of versatile and robust top tier highbay luminaires throughout the institution. The luminaires play a pivotal role in enhancing the open collaborative spaces to provide a high level of evenly balanced illumination for teachers and students in a pleasing setting.
In the canteen, the DURALED CAPRI luminaires have been selected as a multi-purpose luminaire, in a class of its own as a high-quality fixture that is powerful, low maintenance and reliable. The DURALED CAPRI’s are suspended from exposed ceilings, and their wide beam and direct/indirect distribution ensure uniform illumination with reduced glare control, creating the perfect environment for students to take a break, unwind from class and eat during recess and lunchtimes comfortably together with their classmates.
The DURALED CAPRI’s are also the exclusive luminaires for Lindfield Learning Village corridors, producing visually comfortable vertical illumination with excellent horizontal uniformity to allow students, teachers, and visitors to transit easily and safely to throughout the educational facility.
In the food technology classrooms the DURALED CAPRI’s superb multi-stage optic delivers excellent vertical illumination and its crisp colour temperature and rendition assists the visual elements of the tasks in the space. The DURALED CAPRI’s are suspended from high ceilings, working in tandem with the generous glass windows to ensure maximum natural light combined with artificial light, allowing students and teachers to perform tasks throughout each teaching period in an ideal setting.
The MAXI CAPRI is the exclusive luminaire suspended amongst the exposed beams throughout the high ceilings of the hall, surrounded by bold brick architecture and sturdy wooden floorboards in the school gymnasium. These high-performance and dependable luminaires are designed to meet stringent requirements for competitive ball sporting activities, catering for all co-educational levels from kindergarten through to Year 12.
The MAXI CAPRI’s sturdy polycarbonate refractor and clever fixture design provides high impact protection to withstand objects striking the fixtures without shattering or causing injury. The MAXI CAPRI’s luminaires feature precision designed reflector/refractor optics that are far superior to common lensed LED industrial luminaires, ensuring increased vertical illumination for the Principal Playing Spaces across a wide array of sporting activities. The superior low-glare capabilities of MAXI CAPRI’s optics allow for players, teachers, and spectators to see and perform to the best of their ability without interference.
